The impact of colour on healthcare scrubs

coloured scrubs

At Harvey’s workwear, we continually keep up to date with trends in workwear, which is something that you may not even think exists. However, as of the year 2024, the neutral colours which were once considered timeless, such as greys, blacks and shades of blue are becoming overtaken by the need for coloured scrubs and personalisation. For a more detailed look on how we at Harvey’s are leaning into customisation of the humble scrub uniform, read our personalising workwear article

Scrub suit options

We feel strongly about personalisation within workwear, just as people do outside of work. Of course, professionalism is never far from our minds throughout the whole design process, but adding colour does compliment workwear pieces, such as scrubs, beautifully.

The role of colour

Within healthcare, for example, you may be treating a patient who is incredibly nervous and anxious about being at the doctors, or hospital or another type of clinic. Especially for those with a nervous disposition, seeing colour can provide them with a level of calmness that they otherwise wouldn’t experience. There are many research studies into the positive impact of colours, such as that conducted by Mental Health America, who discovered that chromotherapy (also known as colour healing) heavily suggested that certain colours have a psychological and physiological positive impact on people’s feelings and subsequent behaviour.

In turn, it’s clear that the clinician wearing a brighter colour also feels more comfortable within their role, as it adds a new dimension to what was once a boring uniform to adorn every day.

Our range of colours

As outlined in previous articles, we are proud of the multitude of workwear options we propose to our clients. This not only covers designs, styles, fits, and personalised add-ons (such as bespoke embroidery), but the vast range of colour options readily available for all genders.

The colours we offer, here at Harveys are:

  • Black scrub top (for both men and women) alongside black scrub trousers also
  • Grey Scrubs
  • Pink Scrubs and pink scrub uniform garments, including Magenta
  • Green Scrubs
  • Burgandy Scrubs
  • Navy Blue Scrubs
  • Purple Scrubs

Inclusivity through colour

As we cater for many clients from all industries and sectors, we are passionate about providing a huge range to cater for all. Whether it be a beauty salon, or a clinician within the NHS, we are certain we will have the perfect design, fit, and colour for your team.

To celebrate the wonderful work our healthcare professionals do, we are also pleased to announce special reduced prices on selected lines.

Other personalisation options

Embroidery Service

As outlined in our earlier article, other personalisations are also available when you choose Harveys for your workwear needs. As well as the array of colour options available to our clients, we also provide bespoke, customised embroidery which we are proud to offer to our clients from as little as £2.50.

Extra touches of colour

We consult closely with each client to discuss and ensure your brief is always exceeded. A part of this is paying close attention to the workplace guidelines in which your teams operate. At the same time, we strive to offer various colours that truly represent you and your branding, and the message and colour you wish to portray to the world. Even on a plainer colour, such as black or grey, we can inject colour by changing the base colour of the garments, or the trim colour.

If this has got you thinking about your team’s scrubs clothing, medical scrubs and uniforms, and you wish to enquire, our team are always happy to chat to you! Feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, via our website, email or by calling one of our team on 0161 624 9535.
